I think I may have mentioned a few times that I was working on some test shoots this summer. I was inspired by Nick Onkin’s post about the importance of test shoots (and how to make them happen) for your portfolio and decided to set a few up for myself.

The first step was to come up with a concept.  I had a few ideas in my head and for this one I decided to do an on-location lifestyle/fashion shoot.  The theme was nerd chic and we choose one of my favorite local coffee shops, Urban Standard as the backdrop for the shoot.

The second step was assembling a team to put the shoot together.  I used some online tools and found a great team to work with that really made the day happen.  They were all amazing at what they did and were so much fun to work with.

After that all that was left to do was shoot.  Everything went well and the shots turned out great (although we did suffer a little x-ray damage to some of the film – more on that later).  Here are some of my favorites from the shoot and the team I worked with (highly recommended!)
