It’s 3 hours from new years and I’m sitting here in my hotel room watching Auburn lose their bowl game to Clemson.  I’m not really much of a football guy, but I love watching Auburn play, I think it’s just part of living in the south.  Anyways, I thought that this would be a great time for an update, because much has happened since the list time that I wrote.  Let’s see, first off, we didn’t make it though the night to Kansas City.  Instead we found a rest stop about 30 miles west of St. Louis where we slept in 27 degree temperature.  It was there that I discovered that I have a very old, and not well insulated sleeping bag, and Paul has a very nice and incredibly insulated one.  We woke up at about 7:30 after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and I couldn’t feel my feet, despite the 2 shirts, 2 jackets and sleeping bag, I still froze my butt off.  Moral of the story:  own a good sleeping bag.  We got to Kansas City the next afternoon to a beautiful snow covered downtown, and checked into our hotel.  Yeah, that’s right, we have a hotel.  No sleeping on floors or couches or in the car this time.  So we’re here in Kansas City for IHOP, which stands for International House of Prayer.  Google them, they have some really cool ideas.  So we attended some sessions, bought a new pair of shoes (all I brought were slip on’s and penny loafers, and it’s 30 degrees outside) and now we’re hold up in our room sitting on our computers.  Today is The Call, a 12 hour worship and prayer event that we’ve been going back and forth to all day.  It’s pretty intense, and I’ve learned some great new truths.  Tomorrow marks the end of my access to internet for a while, as we’ll travel back to Indiana for a few days to see my family and do some snowboarding.  I guess that’s about it, I finished my intro to Discovering Joy today, thanks to some great advice from Jessi.  More on that soon.  Well, it’s 9:00, and I’m going to watch the rest of the game (auburn just scored, so they’re not losing anymore!)  I wish you all a happy new years and I’ll see you in 2008!
