Tent Stakes Tour part II
November 17, 2007
So now that you know about the non-profit…this blog is going to dig a little deeper into some of the things that we do. I’m going to focus on the Tent Stakes Tour for this one, because I just got back from our second date and I’m really excited about it. The Tent Stakes Tour, or TST as I will refer to it, is our main outreach and promotion effort for Bedouins. Within Bedouins there are 4 of us who own/direct it, and each of us brings our own art, talents and passions to the table to help growth in Bedouins. Roger Eason, who some of you may know already is one of the four of us, and just so happens to be my roomate. Roger and I have been friends for a while now, and I met him through his former band, Glorious Bride. Roger is pursuing a career in music as a singer-songwriter. Let me be the first to tell you that his music will change you. It’s the kind of music that you can listen to over and over, and every time feel that he’s singing straight to you. His new EP, Family Heirlooms, will be released in early january and I would advise that you go get a copy asap. So all of that being said, Roger’s gift to Bedouins is his music. We came up with the idea of promotion a tour that he could go on to showcase his new music, and at the same time promote bedouins this summer, and it is now an operational event. The tent stakes tour allows Roger to go around the country, campus to campus, playing a show and speaking about Bedouins. For the first two stops of the tour I was blessed with the opportunity to go with Roger and speak. So fun. So here are some pics from our detour to the beach and our night at Jessi’s home on the way to our Mobile stop of the TST.
