I had the opportunity to shoot a lot of 4×5 at Patrick and Aubrey’s wedding in May (because I was co-shooting it with another photographer) and it was amazing.  I love 4×5 (which I’m sure you can tell if you’ve kept up with my blog) and getting to shoot it all day at a wedding was a dream.

To me, 4×5 is such an amazing format.  Not only do you get killer resolution and phenomenal sharpness, but there’s a whole different feeling to shooting a camera that slow and methodical.  It’s much more intentional (for me at least) and aids in a slower, more thoughtful approach (I shot about 12 frames at the wedding).  There’s also something classic, not just for the shooter but the subject, when the photographer is behind this giant camera, under a black cloth…it adds an air of romance and timelessness to the whole process. It’s most definitely not a camera for all situations, but for those that it is appropriate-it’s amazing.  Anyways…point being I love 4×5!  Here’s a shot…I’ll have the rest up asap!
