Our Morning Walk to Work
February 19, 2010
For the past few weeks the Bronx have had snow on the ground, something entirely new to me. Back in Alabama, if we get snow at all, it’s typically gone in a day or two. Due to the snow, walking to work every morning has been an interesting experience. At first it was a dream. We loved it…played in it on the way to work…enjoyed how beautiful it was etc. Then it started to become an annoyance. After a few days the snow is no longer actual snow, but an icy/slushy mixture that makes walking a) difficult and b) disgusting.
Then it’ll snow again and you reset the whole thing…back to fluffy, white, wonderful fun. I think that we’re finally at the stage where the sidewalks are all clear of the icy/slushy mess.
Either way the snow is BEAUTIFUL. I love it (except in it’s slushy stage). Here are a few shots I snapped with my 5D on the way to work 2 days ago. I mean, even if it’s slushy it’s so dang pretty.
