Hello all, it is I, Stephen. I’m laying on the floor of my good friend Tom Hardy’s apartment in Atlanta right now and I decided that this was a perfect time for a blog update. It seems these days I can’t stay put for very long; as soon as I get settled for a few days I hit the road and go somewhere else. It’s incredibly exciting to say the least. This weekend I’m in Atlanta for nothing more than a good time and some relaxation. Jessi and myself are going the the Georgia Aquarium and possibly the Atlanta Zoo tomorrow. We’re attempting to take advantage of the few free weekends that I have right now, since they won’t last long as weddings, school projects and Bedouins stuff starts to catch up. On a different note, lately I’ve been thinking about money a lot. Actually, that’s not true. I’ve always thought about money a lot. What I mean to say is lately I’ve been really praying about money a lot. I live pretty much check to check, as is the life of a free-lance photographer. It’s something that I’ve just become use to over the past few years. But I never did feel settled. I always worry in between those jobs, and checks. Especially at that time of month when bills start to come due and I have no money in the account. Well this being said, I had some car problems early in the break that set me back more than usual, and a photo shoot cancellation that left me wondering if I’d even make the first few months rent this year. To add to that, while I was in Kansas City I started to really think and pray about tithing. It’s something that I never really did. As I started thinking and praying about it God really convicted me on it, then a call from a new pastor here in Birmingham about how Bedouins could become involved with his church had my mind set; I was going to tithe. Committing 10% of my earnings did nothing to help my growing financial concerns. But I prayed about it, felt a peace and decided to trust God in the situation. Well that’s the long story, and the conclusion is this: Upon returning to work, on my first day back from break my boss gave me a 20% raise out of nowhere. She is an AMAZING boss by the way. There’s nothing about a raise twice what I committed to give to the church that I can tell you other than God is good. Amen. That’s my story for the week, here are some pics, starting in Auburn for Christmas, then moving north through Indiana, into St. Louis (note the arch) and then on to Kansas City and back. The pictures conclude in Panama City with Jessi, and then a pic of my friend John Meeks back at my loft. I hope you’re all doing well, and wish you a wonderful weekend. P.S. I added some new photos to the “persons” section…check them out!
