I’m sitting at a coffee shop that I visited once before…just over a year ago on my first trip out of the country. It was the trip that changed my life, the trip that sent me on a journey into an organization that’s taking me all over the world and having me do things that I never in a million years saw myself doing, such as leading, speaking and being a photographer. I’m here, in Mission, TX where everything started for me…that lead to where I am and what I’m doing now. It’s a neat feeling, after a year to be back here. I spent most of yesterday in Mexico with the people who changed my life. It’s fantastic to be back here working on a documentary that could change their lives. That’s what we’re doing, a photographic documentary that will be turned into a multi-media presentation on the lives of those living in the shanty town that we’ve come to know as “the canal”. It’s been a very humbling trip, as I’m still recovering from my recent bout with Mono, and I just don’t have the energy that I usually would. But we’re working through it. Here are a few quick shots from the trip so far…I’ve shot almost exclusivly film this time, and almost forgot to even break out the digital, but at least we have a few things for you to see. Roger and I are going to our great friend, Angelica’s graduation tonight, and then tomorrow along with her, we’re going into Mexico for a few days of documentary work at the canal, and some great time with our friends at the orphanage. So it’ll be a little while before I’m back…keep us in your prayers as I struggle to stay on top of this sickness while I’m here and get done all of the things that we have planned for this trip. I’ll talk to you guys again in a few days!
