November Print Give-Away (Part 9)
November 29, 2010
As november comes to a close, so does my print give-away. This is #9, only one more after this…but don’t worry, it’s been a blast so I’ll be sure to do it again in the future!
Print 9:
This is another print from my trip to Moscow, Russia a few years ago. This was one of my favorite black and white shots that I’ve ever taken…so despite it’s age I’m adding it to the give-away list!
Question 9: I just left a long weekend at my grandparent’s house in Indiana so I’m feeling like family at the moment…but let’s not get too serious: what is your funniest childhood memory?

I was about 10 years old. My brother was just running out the door for school and I was getting out of the top bunk bed. My boxer shorts had caught onto the ladder at which point i slipped off the ladder, flipped upside down and was dangling by the waste band. Screaming for my brother in hopes that he had not left the house yet…. About a minute later he walks into the bedroom.. Laughs and says he cant help cause hes running late for school…He did finally help me off the ladder though..
The exact same thing had happened the next morning.. I never used the ladder to get of the bunk beds again…

My funniest memory – dressing up like Power Rangers and making home made Power Rangers videos with my best friends Josh and Jordan. And the time we made a homemade Star Trek movie using our mother’s make up to create aliens. And the time we made a movie based off of Dragnet, but instead was called Bob and Friday. And the time we made a homemade bottled water commercial and called it St. John’s Bottled Water and showed a picture of a toilet seat in the background…oh and so much more! I should send you a link of the videos!!!

I don’t know if this is going to be as funny in print or not but when I was about 10 I think I had applied to a dance academy and was waiting on hearing back from them about getting into the program and when we had initially called about getting in no matter how many times my mother clarified that my name was Merissa the woman was like ‘Yes, MARTHA.’ so my mom eventually gave up and didn’t think much of it.
I was sitting in my brothers room one night and the phone rang and he answered it – it was the dance academy calling back to let me know I was in and they asked to speak with Martha – my brother responded with ‘Oh. I’m sorry. We buried her in the backyard last week… Merissa is here though.’ and shoved the phone to my hands. Martha was my hamster. And we did indeed bury her in the yard a week before – the woman was clearly horrified and I never did understand why my brother would assume someone was calling for the hamster.
