November Print Give-Away (Part 10)
November 30, 2010
And here it is…the end of November (where’d it go?!) and the end of my print give-away. It’s been a lot of fun and there’s been a lot of involvement, so thanks to all of you for participating! I’ll most definitely do it again sometime soon.
Print 10:
I took this picture while reading a book in Paris near Notre Dame. I was actually waiting to attend mass there at 8:30, and when I went at 8:00 I realized that the sign (silly europe) said 18:30, not 8:30, so I missed it. Anyways, I missed the mass, but got this awesome shot (via Lomo) while reading near the river.
Side note, this is my favorite print of the give-away…so if no one impresses me with their answers I might just keep it! ;)
Question 10: What is your favorite Star Wars Quote? (all of you non-Star Wars fans should at least know one…I mean, come on, have you been living under a rock for the past 40 years?!)

” Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder.” – Princess Leia

“Wonderful girl. Either I’m going to kill her or I’m beginning to like her.”
Doesn’t that describe most relationships?

I guess it helps to put it on the right post.
I’m going to recycle an answer.
Leia-
“I love you.”
Han-
“I know.”

okay so I will confess. I’ve never watched Star Wars. Not even a second of it. BUT… this is my favorite picture in the entire world… so I just spent a good ten minutes googling Star Wars quotes. Here ya go!
Han Solo: Traveling through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star, or bounce too close to a supernova and that’d end your trip real quick, wouldn’t it?

“Size matters not… Look at me. Judge me by size do you?”
Master Yoda
(hands down the funniest quote in Star Wars)

I’m going to back my wife’s quote up. That’s a pretty good one. But Yoda has some good ones too.
“Mmm. Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing”
Yoda

I have thought hard about this….there are so many amazing quotes in the entire series. Probably one of the most influential and encouraging, that can be applied to real life is in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK….
Luke: All right, I’ll give it a try.
Yoda: No. Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.
Simple and to the point.

Additionally, in Star Wars mythology, this is by far the most POWERFUL quote in all the story….
Obi wan Kenobi to Darth Vader : “You can’t win, Darth. Strike me down, and I will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.”
Talk about dramatic foreshadow!

There are a bunch, but I think the most amazing quote in Star Wars comes from Episode V, when Luke leaves for Bespin and Yoda simply says to Obi-Wan “There is another”. We were left wondering for 3 years who the other one was, what that meant to Vader and the Rebellion, etc. Talk about a cliffhanger!

“you came in that thing? You’re braver than I thought” (Leia) because it reminds me of my thoughts of my husbands old jeep when we first met!

Princess Leia: Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder.
Han Solo: Who’s scruffy-looking?
Okay, so I may have had to use imdb to get a little help, but I think this is a good one! I mean, you know you encounter people that you just need a phrase to describe them and here it is. What could let you vent more than calling somoen a “stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder”? I mean, you bash their intelligance AND looks! This insult ranks up there with such Shakesperian insults as “beetle-headed, flap-ear’d knave,” “quintessence of dust,” and “fusty nut with no kernel.”

From Return of the Jedi -
Han: “I love you.”
