Midway through my Adventure
December 27, 2007
I’m a nerd…it’s official. I’m on my adventure right now, which so far has been pretty awesome. I’m still getting use to sleeping in, then waking up with nothing important to do. It’s bliss. Thus far, I have spent Christmas with my folks in Auburn, where we played a good bit of Rock Band, and scattegories, then drove to Indiana with my bro, Zach. We’ve been hanging out here for the past couple of days just doing nothing, and seeing all of my relatives. It’s been great. As usual, my plans have changed a good bit as the week has unfolded, as we have now decided that we’re going to spend the night in St. Louis, and then head to Kansas City the next day. Where we will sleep, we can only imagine. I’m really excited, as I travel to new places and experience new things it’s almost like I’m making a discovery, like there’s something out there, with hundreds of thousands of people all living and working, and suddenly I discover it, and it is real. Up until now, these places have just been ideas. But that’s soon to change. This past year has been insane, and I’m really excited about closing it out in a brand new place surrounded by brand new people. Paul will be here in the morning to pick me up, and then it’s off we go, into the unexplored. Trail blazers, we’re prepared for the new, the exciting, the unexpected. We’re going to be doing some video blogging, and hopefully I can find a way to put it or link it on here. Josh? So, another unexpected twist to our plans; no snow. Yeah, I know, pathetic. We’re in Indiana, and there’s no snow. Not one flake. But, that worked out alright, because we’re actually going to return to Birmingham a few days earlier than expected, so that I can take yet another road trip with Jessi to the beach for a few days before school starts back up. We’re going to go visit her brother for his birthday, then come back up to auburn so that Jessi can meet my folks. I’m also getting to do a photo shoot with the band Martha’s Trouble that weekend while we’re in Auburn. So here’s the run-down: I left Birmingham, drove to auburn for 2 days, then left auburn, drove to Indiana for 3 days. Paul drove from Huntsville to Indiana, where we will leave for St. Louis for a day of sleeping under the arch? Then we will drive to Kansas City for 3 days, after which we will return to Indian for a few more days of relaxation. Paul and I will leave Indiana and return to Birmingham just in time for me to catch up with Jessi (yay!) and drive to Panama City for a day, then back to Auburn and then, finally, back to Birmingham, three weeks later to start school the next morning. Amazing. I’m going to go watch some more 70′s show now, but I’ll be back, and hopefully someone will be reading :)
