This is one of the images that started it all for me.  One of my first portraits made outside of the U.S.  I took this picture at an orphanage in Reynosa Mexico in March of 2007.  It was my first time acting as a journalist.  My first time leaving the country.  My first time to experience poverty on that level.  My first time in an orphanage.  My first digital camera.  My first taste of what God had in store for me.  This image is sort of a cornerstone for me…a record of an event that set things in motion.  I’m so grateful to get to do what I love.  Tonight I locked in my next trip with Paul to Honduras in late march.  I can’t wait.  I came home thinking about how different things are now than they were 2 years ago.  Thinking about how far things have come.  And that brought me back to this picture…to this boy in Reynosa.  He played a huge role in where I am now.  Good night everyone…be blessed!
