Beach Camera Bummer
February 28, 2008
So this past weekend Jessi and I went to the beach. We got to speak at Genesis Church for Bedouins and then go get lunch and hang out with Jessi’s folks for a while. It was a nice, relaxing trip, and gave me a break from my insane schedule here in Bham. It was also fantastic to get to spend some time hanging out with Jessi outside of our distracting lives here, and just get to hang out one on one. Before we started our drive home on Sunday we decided to go spend a few hours at the beach together, just hanging out and having some fun. I thought that I’d take the mamiya along and teach Jessi how to use it, because she’s very interested in (and very good at) photography. I had a roll of film that I had found in a back on my bronica, and thought it was new. Wrong. So it was already shot. So after a few hours of shooting what I was expecting to be an amazing roll of film, I was able to save this one frame (most of it!) but everything else was way over exposed and didn’t come out at all. Oh well…that’s what I get for using old film that I didn’t know about. At least Jessi was shooting the whole time with my Pentax, so we should have some good shots coming back soon!
